K-8 “Exercise Your Right to Vote”
Poster Contest
Print the official entry form (PDF) – a parental signature is required, and all submissions will be via postal mail to the address listed below or on the form.
Deadlines
- Entries must be postmarked by October 30, 2008
- Contest winners will be announced in November 2008
Guidelines
- The contest is open to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.
- Students must submit a poster that expresses their view of the theme
- “Exercise Your Right to Vote” Posters must be no larger than 11″ x 17″.
- All submitted artwork must be original and unframed.
- Entry Form with Parental Consent must accompany every poster. Entries that do not have this information will not be accepted.
- All submissions become the property of Kids Voting USA or Kids Voting MN and may be reproduced in its publications or on merchandise. Artwork will not be returned unless the student makes special arrangements.
Judging
- Submissions will be separated into grade level categories (K-2, 3-5, and 6-8) for judging.
- Artwork will be panel-judged based on originality, composition, and adherence to contest theme and guidelines.
Prizes
- Prizes may include gift cards, and tickets to a 2008 Minnesota Lynx Basketball game (seated in the VIP Suite)
- Winning posters will be featured on the Kids Voting USA and Kids Voting Minnesota Web sites.
